FOUNDERS' DAY INFORMATION

WHAT IS FOUNDERS' DAY?

Founders’ Day (Feb. 17) is when we celebrate the legacy and work of our founders to better the lives of every child in education, health and safety. It is a time to reflect and take pride in our achievements, and renew our commitment to be a:

• powerful voice for all children;

• relevant resource for parents; and

• strong advocate for public education.

HOW DO YOU CELEBRATE FOUNDERS' DAY"?

Each PTA unit presents a Life Achievement Award—the highest honor from the nation’s largest child advocacy organization—to 1 staff member at their particular school, and 1 community member affiliated with their school.

This person is one who daily lives out his or her commitment to children, goes above and beyond for all children, and acts as a tireless advocate for children’s education, health, and well-being. We stand before our district and community and honor some pretty amazing individuals, mostly the unsung heroes, who selflessly give their all to make the world a better place for our kids.

TIME: Ceremony/Presentation starts at 6:30pm. Reception to follow
